Matt is an analytical, self-motivated individual who grew up on an island in the Atlantic Ocean. He has a varied background from non-profit leadership to owning and operating a digital content marketing company focused on small businesses.
He initially studied Theology and Music which led him to co-found a growing church in Paradise, Newfoundland and eventually taking a role with a large, more established church in St. John’s, Newfoundland as their Student and Music Pastor. In those roles, he managed budgets exceeding 500K, organized and executed programs, and created various types of written and digital content.
In 2013, Matt felt the need to study in a different field so he moved to Vancouver and completed the New Media Design and Development program at BCIT. He then formed ‘Soapbox Digital’: a digital marketing and content creation company focused on small businesses. In that role, he enabled clients to grow their businesses by creating engaging and informative content and consulting with clients on how to use that content more effectively.
In the years prior to joining Lettuce Lads, Matt worked in door-to-door sales (consistently hitting above target numbers with Bell Media) and a teaching role in SE Asia (highest ranked ‘April’ teacher in Ha Long, Vietnam, with APAX English).
Now, as the Marketing and Communications lead with Lettuce Lads, Matt administrates the digital infrastructure of the company (i.e. SaaS solutions like GSuite), creates and manages all digital content, and assists with project management and business development.
He’s excited about the potential impact that Lettuce Lads can have and how effective communications can play a role.
Matt loves his Triumph Bonneville, singer-songwriter tunes, and a good gym routine.
